History

I always thought you could only love
Me
But looking back I realise
It could have been anybody
You just needed someone to be with.
It makes our years together
A bit of a waste
We had some fun but it was essentially
All a bit pointless
And what did we ever achieve?
Then again,
You could say that about the history
Of the whole Human race
